After a whirlwind of Fall 2019 shows in Milan and Paris, Vogue’s Anna Wintour sat down to regroup about some of the season’s best shows and biggest trends. Among her highlights are the checks and menswear-inspired tailoring at Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Balenciaga; the eclectic spirit at Etro, Marni, and Paco Rabanne; and the dark, brooding romance of Prada, Valentino, and Alexander McQueen.
There’s also Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation (2003), who sports a powder-pink rendition; and in Crossroads (2002).
Britney Spears breaks it down in her room while wearing a knotted spaghetti-strap tank, a cowboy hat, and a pair of thick-banded undies.
Watch Wintour reflect on all this and more, here. Also top of mind for Vogue’s editor-in-chief this season is sustainability, thanks in no small part to Stella McCartney’s efforts around the issue. “Stella, obviously, must be feeling so proud and in a way so vindicated right now,” says Wintour of McCartney’s early eco-activism. “This is an issue that Stella had championed for 10, 15, 20 years, and the world is paying attention.”
